The Bishops Veterinary Surgery was set up in1991. It is based in Hatfield (Herts) in a residential area close to the Galleria shopping center and within walking distance of the town centre. The practice is RCVS & BSAVA approved and purpose designed to offer complete medical and surgical facilities with a convenient car park at the rear.
We specialise in companion animals (dogs, cats and rabbits) and also have substantial experience with exotics (such as parrots and reptiles). Staff members with specialist interests in dermatology (skin diseases) and dentistry are available to provide advance care in those fields.

The Bishops Veterinary surgery is a modern purpose build clinic designed to be efficient and feel clean, bright and healthy. The atmosphere is pleasant and we endeavour to make each visit stress free to both our client, their pets and the staff. The care taken in the design of the surgery is also evident in each appointment, each of which is 15 minutes long. This allows for a full and proper consultation and no long delays in the waiting room. By having longer appointment time, we are able to check each animal properly and we work hard on the prevention side of things. We take time to talk to each client about diet, vaccines and general care, and give full explanations about what is happening to their pet and precisely how the treatment we have recommended will work.

The RCVS & BSAVA operates a Practice Standards Scheme which aims to raise the quality of patient care offered by veterinary practices.
To achieve the RCVS & BSAVA Standard, a veterinary surgery must meet certain requirements encompassing premises, diagnostic equipment, laboratory facilities, qualifications and continuing education of staff, dispensing of medicines, and health and safety regulations.
Each practice is thoroughly inspected by a trained independent veterinary surgeon. Once approved, a practice can use the Approved Practice Standards logo on its stationary and display a plaque or certificate on its premises.
